Why International Cooperation Matters

Transnational cooperation is essential to achieving the objectives of the project because the environmental and social dynamics connected to tourism are not limited to one territory. Mediterranean regions such as Sardinia, Spain and Greece share structural characteristics, including seasonal concentration, coastal pressure and strong dependence on tourism economies. Addressing these challenges within a purely local framework would limit perspective and impact.
By cooperating at transnational level, the project enables young people to compare different territorial realities and recognise common patterns as well as contextual differences. This comparative dimension strengthens critical thinking and broadens understanding of sustainability beyond national boundaries. Participants are encouraged to see environmental responsibility and youth engagement as shared European concerns rather than isolated local issues.
For the participating organisations, transnational cooperation allows the development of a shared methodological approach that integrates sustainability and youth work across Mediterranean contexts. The exchange of practices and perspectives increases organisational learning and reinforces the European dimension of their activities.
Through this cooperation, the project creates added value by transforming local experiences into a structured European learning process, enhancing both the quality and the long-term relevance of the project results.
