Lu Impostu Beach

Lu Impostu Beach is located just north of San Teodoro, immediately after La Cinta Beach.
It’s about 26 km south of Olbia, a 20–25 minute drive along the SS125 coastal road.
Tucked away in a small bay, Lu Impostu is often less crowded than nearby beaches, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a blend of beauty and tranquillity.
What Makes Lu Impostu Special
The name Lu Impostu means “the delivery place” in the ancient local dialect, hinting at the bay’s history as a trading spot.
Today, it’s a serene paradise known for:
- Powdery white sand with a slight golden hue
- Shallow, transparent waters with shades of blue that change with the light
- A wild, natural atmosphere, surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation
The beach is about 1 km long, wide enough to find space even during the high season.
How to Get There
- By car:
From Olbia, head south on the SS125. After passing the turn for Puntaldia, follow the signs for Lu Impostu.
There’s a dedicated car park (paid during summer), with a short, easy walk to the beach. - By bus:
Some local bus lines (mainly summer services) run from Olbia to San Teodoro with stops near Lu Impostu. Check ARST routes. - By train:
Olbia remains the nearest train station. From there, local buses or car hire are needed.
Trails and Access
Access to the beach is via a sandy trail through small dunes and low shrubs.
The path is flat and suitable for families, but it’s less “urbanised” compared to La Cinta — which adds to its charm.
A wooden walkway has been built in parts to protect the fragile environment.
Camper Info
There are no camper parks directly at Lu Impostu, but several campsites and camper stops are available in San Teodoro and Puntaldia, all within a 10–15 minute drive.
Parking for large vehicles is easier than at La Cinta but still tight during peak hours.
